Full Body Skin Check
Comprehensive, Clinician-Led Skin Cancer Screening
Thank you for purchasing a Full Body Skin Check at The Mole Clinic. Our Full Body Skin Checks are thorough, head-to-toe skin assessments carried out by an Advanced Skin Cancer Screening Nurse. It is designed to give you clarity, reassurance, and expert clinical insight into your skin health.
Using advanced dermoscopic imaging, your clinician carefully examines your skin to identify any changes that may benefit from monitoring, further assessment, or specialist review. Findings are explained clearly during your appointment, with time to ask questions and understand what they mean for you.
Where appropriate, areas of concern are reviewed remotely by a Specialist Doctor. This additional layer of clinical oversight supports accurate decision making and gives you confidence in your results.
With clinics across the UK, we provide accessible, professional skin cancer screening for adults who want a clear and reliable understanding of their skin.
What a Full Body Skin Check Involves
Your appointment is structured, unhurried, and designed to be both thorough and informative.
It includes a complete examination of your skin, from head to toe, including areas that are difficult to check yourself such as the scalp, back, and soles of the feet. Dermoscopic technology is used throughout to assess moles and skin lesions in greater detail than can be seen with the naked eye.
Your results are discussed with you during the appointment, so you leave with a clear understanding of any findings and what, if anything, needs to happen next.
Alongside the clinical assessment, your Advanced Skin Cancer Screening Nurse will provide personalised, practical guidance to support your long-term skin health. This includes advice on sun protection, reducing UV exposure in everyday life, and how to check your own skin between appointments. You will also be advised on when it may be appropriate to seek further professional input.
This combination of assessment and education is a key part of the service, helping you feel informed and confident beyond a single visit.
How Long Does a Full Body Skin Check Take?
A Full Body Skin Check typically takes around 40 minutes, although this may vary depending on your individual skin and the number of moles or lesions assessed.
Your appointment is designed to be thorough without feeling rushed. Your clinician will take the time to examine your skin carefully, explain any findings, and answer your questions so you leave with clarity and reassurance.
What to Expect at Your Appointment
When you arrive, your Advanced Skin Cancer Screening Nurse will ask a few questions about your medical history, any previous skin concerns, and whether you have noticed any changes.
You will then be guided through a full skin examination in a private clinical setting. You may be asked to undress to your underwear so that your skin can be assessed fully, with your comfort and dignity always prioritised.
Dermoscopic imaging is used to examine moles and lesions in detail, allowing your clinician to assess structures beneath the skin’s surface.
Throughout the appointment, findings are explained clearly. You will have time to ask questions and discuss whether any follow-up or monitoring is recommended.

Clinical Review, Reporting and Follow-Up
If any moles or skin lesions require further attention, they are reviewed remotely by a Specialist Doctor using high-resolution dermoscopic images.
Where appropriate, you will receive a written report with clear guidance on next steps. This may include referral to The Mole Clinic’s consultation or removal services, your GP or NHS pathway, or another suitable provider.
Your images and findings are securely recorded within The Mole Clinic’s clinical system. This allows for accurate comparison over time and supports structured follow-up, including annual reviews where recommended.
This approach ensures continuity of care and supports informed, confident decision-making about your skin health.

Your Results and Next Steps
Your findings will be explained clearly during your appointment, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and fully understand your results.
You will be advised if monitoring, follow-up, or further assessment is recommended. Where appropriate, a Specialist Doctor review and written report will be arranged to support clear next steps.
If you use private medical insurance, our team can help you understand how your results relate to your policy and advise on next steps where authorisation or referral is required.
You will leave with a clearer understanding of your skin, confidence in what to do next, and practical advice to support your skin health going forward. Many people leave feeling reassured, even when follow-up is recommended.
